The Women's Health Summit has been devised by a Founding Group of experts, who are shaping clinical best-practice in women's healthcare.

 

Dr. Helen Turner

Dr Helen Turner (MA (Cantab.) MD FRCP LLB Hons) has been a Consultant Endocrinologist in Oxford since 2000, training at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital followed by Oxford. Her MD research focused on 'angiogenesis in endocrine tumours'. With numerous published papers, her key interests span Turner Syndrome, Thyroid eye disease management, and Endocrinopathies due to Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Treatment. She is a member of the Diabetes and Endocrinology council of the RSM, and the Society for Endocrinology Clinical Committee and Patient Support Group, she liaises with the Turner Syndrome Support Society and Thyroid eye Charitable Trust. Dr. Turner initiated and edits the Oxford Handbook of Endocrinology and organises the annual Oxford Endocrine Masterclass as well as other SFE and RSM meetings.

Professor. Niamh Martin

 Professor Niamh Martin

 

Professor Niamh Martin is a Reader in Endocrinology at Imperial College London and Honorary Consultant Endocrinologist at Charing Cross Hospital, London. Her clinical and research interests include pituitary disease and she is the Lead Clinician for the Imperial Pituitary Multidisciplinary Service. Niamh is involved with the Society for Endocrinology as the hypothalamus and pituitary strand convenor for Clinical Update, a member of the You and Your Hormones editorial board and Chair Elect for the Public Engagement committee.

Michael O’Reilly       

Professor Michael O’Reilly

Professor O’Reilly is a Consultant Endocrinologist in Beaumont Hospital Dublin, and Clinical Associate Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He completed his PhD funded by the Wellcome Trust from 2012 to 2015 at the University of Birmingham, examining the role of adipose tissue in androgen metabolism in PCOS. He was subsequently appointed as a Clinician Scientist at the University of Birmingham from 2015-2019. He returned to Ireland to a consultant post in Beaumont Hospital in 2019, and in 2020 received a prestigious Emerging Clinician Scientist Fellowship from the Health Research Board, which funds his research into the role of adrenal androgens in health complications in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. His research focuses on the relationship between androgen excess and metabolic disease in women, utilising in vivo physiology and in vitro approaches. He has a clinical subspecialty interest in reproductive, adrenal and pituitary disorders.

 

Professor. Annice Mukherjee       

Professor Annice Mukherjee

Annice Mukherjee is a consultant endocrinologist, speaker and best-selling author with over three decades of experience in hospital medicine. She has a special interest in women’s reproductive health and menopause.  

Annice's commitment and dedication to addressing women's health inequalities and health misinformation is evident through her collaboration and leadership with several organisations and charities such as the Society for Endocrinology, British Menopause Society, Diabetes UK, British Thyroid Foundation, Breast Cancer Now, Prevent Breast Cancer, The South Asian Health Foundation, and Caribbean and African Health Network. 

Annice is chair of the steering group of the Society for Endocrinology’s new real-world data registry for women's health.

Annice is active on social media and has a profile in the U.K.media. She was named in the Financial Times list of Women of 2022 for her work in the field of menopause.

Rupa Ahluwalia

                       Dr Rupa Ahluwalia

Dr Rupa Ahluwalia is a Consultant Endocrinologist and the Clinical Lead for Endocrinology (2015), at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Her clinical interests include pituitary and adrenal disorders. More recently she has actively involved in digital health. She is a senior digital clinician (2021-) and a member of the Clinical Design Authority group (2022-) as part of the local personalised outpatient programme board. She is also a member of the Defining the future of Endocrinology – Implementation group (2022), Society of Endocrinology Clinical (2022-) & Public Engagement Committees (2021-).
