Dr Liz O’Riordan was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer whilst working as a consultant breast surgeon in 2015, aged just 40. Her first book, ‘The Complete Guide to Breast Cancer: How to Feel Empowered and Take Control’, was her way of helping women when a local recurrence forced her to retire. Her best-selling memoir, ‘Under The Knife’, shares her life experiences as a female surgeon before becoming a patient herself.

She’s one of the top 100 Female Key Opinion Leaders in Oncology to follow on social media and continues to help patients with her podcast – So Now I’ve Got Breast Cancer, and her Instagram and YouTube channel, where she creates evidence-based videos to explain and demystify breast cancer treatment and shares coping strategies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Annice Mukherjee

Annice Mukherjee is a consultant endocrinologist, speaker and best-selling author with over three decades of experience in hospital medicine. She has a special interest in women’s reproductive health and menopause.

Annice's commitment and dedication to addressing women's health inequalities and health misinformation is evident through her collaboration and leadership with several organisations and charities such as the Society for Endocrinology, British Menopause Society, Diabetes UK, British Thyroid Foundation, Breast Cancer Now, Prevent Breast Cancer, The South Asian Health Foundation, and Caribbean and African Health Network.

Annice is chair of the steering group of the Society for Endocrinology’s new real-world data registry for women's health.

Annice is active on social media and has a profile in the U.K.media. She was named in the Financial Times list of Women of 2022 for her work in the field of menopause.

Dr Punith Kempegowda is an Assistant Professor and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy at the University of Birmingham. He is also a consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and acute diabetes. His research interests are in providing the best possible care to people with diabetes and endocrine conditions and developing innovative and evidence-based programmes to teach and learn from each other. He is the chair for SIMBA, which provides simulation-based learning opportunities and Chair for CoMICs,which creates short evidence-based videos on various medical topics. He is also the lead for DEKODE, a multicentre cloud-based quality improvement programme for diabetes-related emergencies and PCOS SEVa, a multicentre programme aimed at understanding and improving models of care in PCOS. In his spare time, he is an avid traveller, an ardent movie-goer and a passionate foodie—none of the three are even slightly exaggerated if you follow him on his social media.
