Dr. Vimalananda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a Core Investigator at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research.

Her research interests focus on innovations in endocrine specialty care delivery. Dr. Vimalananda has particular interests in coordination of endocrine specialty care, and use of virtual care including remote patient monitoring, e-consults, and telehealth.

She has published over 50 papers, serves as a grant reviewer for national funding agencies, mentors fellows research on endocrine care delivery, and is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of the Endocrine Society. Dr. Vimalananda chaired the writing group for The Endocrine Society’s Policy Perspective, Appropriate Use of Telehealth for Outpatient Endocrine Care.
